Linn remote Control

Post  Classsik on Wed Feb 20, 2008 1:10 am

Is there a "works everything" remote control available, I'm sure I read about i on the Topica site but its like trying to find a needle in a Marge Simpsons hairstack.

Can you be a little more specific? Are you referring to Linn kit, or what?

Most kit uses IR (infra-red) which is line-of-sight, but there are some that use radio.

I use a Logitech Harmony remote (the new 'Harmony One'), which is IR only, and is based on activities - it controls my lights, projector, Linn Unidisk, Linn tuner, HDMI switch, Squeezebox, A/V switch, TV & Sky HD satellite box. For example, I select the 'Sky on Projector' activity button, and it powers on the projector, sets it to the correct input, switches the HDMI to the right input, powers on the Sky box, powers on the Unidisk & sets it to the correct input, etc.

The best bet is a third party product as dlorde mentions. The only Linn product I can think off is the REM 018 which is sold by Russ Andrews in his catalogue as a Universal Linn remote for some ludicrous amount of money. Beware it is not.

Thinks it actually available from the Linn store now as well... Overpriced as usual but then it was hand built by craftsmen in Glasgow Shocked

I have 2 of them! Laughing
But they are really only for the new series. If You don't stand to the name Linn, look at the Logitech website, they have a lot of good remote controls.
